At its meeting on 11 June 2008, the Official Postgraduate Courses Committee agreed that in the first year of their Master's degree students must pass subjects amounting to at least:
12 ECTS credits, if the course is full time.
6 ECTS credits, if the course is part time.
Years of continuance
At its meeting on 9 July 2007 and its meeting on 11 June 2008, the Official Postgraduate Courses Committee agreed to use the Continuance Regulations approved by the University's Board of Trustees on 15 January 1993 as its benchmark for regulating the continuance of students taking University Master's degrees, applying the following criteria.
Master's degrees with a study load of 60 ECTS: a maximum of 2 years of continuance.
Master's degrees with a study load of 90 ECTS: a maximum of 3 years of continuance.
Master's degrees with a study load of 120 ECTS: a maximum of 4 years of continuance.
Master's degrees with a study load of 60 ECTS: a maximum of 3 years of continuance.
Master's degrees with a study load of 90 ECTS: a maximum of 4 years of continuance.
Master's degrees with a study load of 120 ECTS: a maximum of 5 years of continuance.
Years of continuance are deemed to be those in which the student has formalised his/her registration.
End of continuance
If you exhaust the number of years stated in the previous section, you must apply to the Vice-rector for Postgraduate Courses and lifelong learning for an extension to your continuance in order to continue your studies, providing documentary justification for your failure to complete your course within the period approved by the Committee.
The application is presented at the beginning of the academic year and after considering the documentation provided, and prior report of the Academic Direction of the Master, the Vice-rector may grant, by resolution, the extension requested for a further academic year.

This procedure will be processed by email.
The deadline to solve the request and to notify you the resolution is three months (the month of August is non-working) counted from the date that your application form has entered at the email of the Postgraduate and Non-Regulated Studies Students Office. At the favorable resolution will be indicated the way to make the enrollment, in case of the period established be closed.
If in the period established we don´t have notified the resolution you can understand that your request has been deemed accepted.
